First experience for BRT Sunway Line

Ride the new BRT Sunway Line for free until August.

Good news everyone: RapidKL's elevated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system launched yesterday with the BRT Sunway Line, and it's offering free rides from now until August 1. If this is the first time you're hearing about the BRT, it's just like the LRT only with eco-friendly electric buses (the first of its kind in the country in fact).

In short, here's all you need to know about the BRT:
1. The BRT is an elevated Bus Rapid Transit system, meaning buses have their own elevated lanes.

2. The BRT Sunway Line stations are Sunway-Setia Jaya (integrated with Setia Jaya KTM), Mentari, Sunway Lagoon, SunMed (Sunway Medical Centre), Sun U-Monash (Sunway University-Monash), South Quay (The Summit, Mydin, SEGi College) and USJ 7.

4. Sun U-Monash has a park-and-ride facility (RM4 per entry).

5. Buses are eco-friendly (they're electric!) and disabled-friendly.

6. Each bus can fit up to 67 passengers.

7. Rides are free until August 1. Fare rates will be announced in August.

So, who will be hopping on the BRT for a free ride?
